INGREDIENTS
- 1 1/2 cups sliced fresh peaches
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 Tbsp soft butter
- 1 Tbsp milk
- 1/4 tsp almond flavouring
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
METHOD
- Bring peaches, water and 1/2 cup sugar to a boil.
- Keep peach mixture hot while making the batter.
- Beat egg, 1/2 cup sugar and butter until fluffy.
- Mix in milk & flavouring, then sifted flour, baking powder & salt.
- Spread batter into greased 8 × 8 inch pan.
- Pour peach mixture over all.
- Bake in hot oven, 375 degrees F, for 30 minutes.
