INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup butter
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- pinch of salt
- 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp vanilla
- maraschino cherries
METHOD
- Cream butter well, add sugar gradually and cream well.
- Add egg yolk, mix well.
- Add flour and salt, also vanilla.
- Work until soft and pliable.
- Roll into tiny balls; flatten with fork.
- Place cherry on top and bake in moderate oven until golden brown.
