INGREDIENTS
- 1 1/2 cups sifted flour
- 1/2 cup cornmeal
- 1 tsp salt
- 4 tsp baking powder
- 4 tsp sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 4 Tbsp melted shortening or vegetable oil
METHOD
- Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, sugar.
- Beat eggs until light.
- Add 1 1/2 cups milk and 4 Tbsp melted shortening or oil.
- Add liquid to dry ingredients, all at once, mix until well blended.
- Bake on hot griddle, turning only once.
- Serve immediately.
