Molasses Cookies

From the Collection of Marg Dye. Published in Hot Off the Griddle #20, November 1993.

One of Marcia's mother Margaret's most requested recipes. These are a great go-to cookie. So easy to fold together and so delicious.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg, unbeaten
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp each ginger and nutmeg

METHOD

  1. Bake 'em at 325F for about 10 minutes for a soft chewy centre... 12 minutes or a little longer for a crunchy dunker.
